Helicopter Underwater Escape incl. Airpocket with Adaptive E-learning
Target GroupHelicopter passengers who are required to use a survival suit with an integrated breathing apparatus.
Objective After completing the course, participants will have acquired knowledge about preparations for a water landing and be able to evacuate efficiently and independently from a submerged or floating helicopter. Course participants will be able to use a breathing apparatus as an aid during evacuation.
Course ContentsThe course provides the participant with one of two required additional modules necessary for an OPITO certificate to be valid for use on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. For a course certificate issued by OPITO to be valid on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, the following supplementary courses must be completed and passed:
- Additional Basic Safety Training for the Norwegian Sector.
- Helicopter Escape including Emergency Breathing System (EBS).
E-Learning:
- Preparations for water landing.
- Organized evacuation.
- Breathing apparatus.
- Helicopter emergency systems and equipment.
- Procedures for underwater evacuation.
Practical:
- Water acclimatization exercises with a breathing apparatus in shallow water.
- Organized evacuation.
- Underwater evacuation exercises with the use of a breathing apparatus.
- Characteristics and equipment of helicopter fleets.
- Underwater evacuation exercises without the use of a breathing apparatus.
PrerequisitesNo prerequisites required.
ExaminationThere is no exam for this course.
